Scope: Concept Design, Interior Design Development, Tender and Construction Documentation

This project for the Archbishop of Brisbane occupies part of the upper level of an existing building in the St Stephens cathedral precinct. The space has been reconfigured from two large meeting /choir rooms into the new Archbishop’s office, which was previously located in his residence at New farm. The fitout comprises the Archbishop’s office, reception, board room and admin support offices and associated amenities. The Archbishop attended a design workshop at TVS Architects offices and was very active in developing the final design layout, materials and finishes. A vibrant and welcoming workspace has been created through the use of warm colours and materials such as timber flooring, fabrics, carpets and sheer privacy curtains. The use of curves in both the horizontal and the vertical planes draws the eye around the space and creates a comfortable flow. Great care has been taken to minimize the impact on the existing ceiling and services therefore reducing construction cost.
